Magnetic Resonance Technology and Methods
The Magnetic Resonance (MR) Technology and Methods group is dedicated to advancing MR for biomedical research and healthcare applications. We focus on mechanisms, instrumentation, and methods by combining expertise in physics, engineering and the life sciences. Areas of particular interest include high-field MR, fast and dynamic MR imaging, detector design and magnetic field sensing. We strive to expand the scope of information that can be retrieved with MR and to tackle its key limitations. The most prominent performance limits concern the sensitivity and speed of the imaging process. To jointly address them we have long promoted the dual strategy of parallel signal detection with receiver arrays and the transition to ever higher baseline magnetic field.
