X-Ray Imaging and Microscopy

Enlarged view: X-ray Imaging

The group of Prof. Marco Stampanoni is dedicated to the development of X-ray imaging technology and methods. X-ray imaging has undergone a revolution with the advent of high-brilliance X-ray sources and the availability of coherent X-ray beams. The most important characteristic of coherent beams is their intrinsic capability of generating interference signals and retrieving phase information from the investigated sample. The Stampanoni lab is at the forefront of implementing and exploring these capabilities, covering many length scales from single-cells to entire organisms, temporally resolved studies of dynamic processes, quantitative data analysis, and medical applications.
